A friend is a lover, literally.

The relationship between Latin amīcus “friend” and amō “I love” is clear, as is the relationship between Greek philos “friend” and phileō “I love.”

That, how it used to be.

Today?

Solitude can be moltitude???
Tristis eris si solus eris.

23rd Jan 2006Motel Xenia (32 images)
Splendid decay of Splendid Ideas.
Motel Xenia was one of the works by Aris Konstandinidis , Architect, (1913-1993), when he was working for the E.O.T (Greek Tourism Organization) between the years 1957-1967.
During these years he elaborates the projects and he survays the construction of a series of Workers Housing and Hotels.
He was the first architect in Greece to introduce, on a big scale, the process of standardization during the concept and the construction.
Many of his works either do not any more exist (Demolished !) or they are in disuse.
Motel Xenia in Gournes, Iraklion, Crete, is one of these last.
And it decays in a splendid way.
14th Dec 2004Abbandono a Creta (24 images)

Crete.

Empty, abbandoned villages with stone houses for sale.

Freezed moments of the previous model of life.

Without plasma TV and 4wd cars.

A few, old, wise, beautiful, tired, dying people.

Restriction (13 images)
Restriction=Limitation=Confinment within limits or bounds=The act of keeping something within specific bounds (by force if necessary) .

Restriction may be good, may be bad.

Certainly is an imperfect status.

And that , sometimes, can be interesting.

The Wabi-Sabi way.

Windows (10 images)
WINDOWS

(Not 98 , Not NT, Not XP, anyway not Microsoft).

In Cretan semi deserted villages.

Small because light on Crete is very strong.

Once they were framing peaceful house life seen from outside and wonderful still existing landscapes when you were looking from inside.

Now most of them are obstructed, filled in Useless frames ?
